Modelling historical nutrient emissions into North and Baltic Sea with MoRE (1880)

Short Descripition

The focus lies on modelling historical nutrient emissions (nitrogen and phosphorus) into North and Baltic Sea with the model instrument MoRE. A reference scenario for the year 1880 will be defined and filled with suitable input data. The reference scenario should represent a currently available database and include a historical water balance. Developing an applicable modelling approach and selecting suitable data facilitates the consistent modelling of both the North and Baltic Sea areas. The resulting knowledge on historical emissions and river loads into the German North and Baltic Sea in 1880 forms the basis for reviewing the target values of (total) phosphorus and (total) nitrogen at the limnic-marine interface of the rivers entering North and Baltic Sea.
