From 15 May to 17 May 2018, about 35 students visited the IFAT 2018 in Munich, which is one of the leading trade fairs in the field of environmental technologies.
On our trip to Munich we visited the wastewater treatment plant Geiselbullach of the Amperverband, to get an impression of current wastewater treatment technology. In the evening we were invited to a dinner by KRONOS echochem. Meanwhile, the students had time for personal conversation with leading employees of the company.
During the following days we visited the trade fair. We had several guided tours on various trade fair booths, so we got impressive insights in the latest developments in the field of wastewater treatment technologies.
On our trip back to Karlsruhe we were presented the actual implementation of one of the new technologies: At the wastewater treatment plant Wendlingen (GKW) we were able to visit the new fourth treatment stage for the removal of micropollutants, which is right now in its startup process.
